The Crane Pulley Wheel is a key load-bearing guide component in the crane hoisting mechanism. It is usually cast or forged from high-strength alloy steel (such as 34CrMo4) and integrated into the upper part of the hook assembly. The main function is to guide the movement of the wire rope from the Crane Pulley Wheel through the rope groove, reducing the wear of the wire rope while ensuring the efficiency of force transmission.
The sheave adopts a deep groove design (by DIN 15401 or FEM standard), and the groove radius is about 1.07 times of the diameter of the wire rope, which ensures that the contact area of the wire rope is maximized and prevents jumping grooves. Internal spherical roller bearings or bronze bushings reduce rotational friction (coefficient of friction ≤ 0.015) and maintain smooth operation even under partial load conditions.

Types of Crane Pulley Wheels
Crane Pulley Wheel Block is the core component of the crane hoisting system, which can realize different loading capacities and improve mechanical efficiency by combining different numbers of pulleys. The specific is as follows:
3-Wheel Pulley Block
3-Wheel Pulley Block
Double Wheel Pulley Block
Four Wheel Pulley Block
Single Wheel Pulley Block: A single wheel pulley block consists of a single pulley, bearing system, housing and hook. It is compact and suitable for light lifting and guiding applications. The pulley is usually made of high-strength alloy steel or nylon with good wear resistance. It is usually used in light cranes, manual hoists, construction site guide pulleys, stage equipment, sailboat rigging, etc.
Double Wheel Pulley Block: A double wheel pulley block consists of two parallel pulleys, providing a 2:1 ratio and doubling the lifting force. It usually adopts a deep groove design to enhance the stability of the wire rope and reduce the vibration of the wire rope. The bearing system optimizes load distribution and is suitable for medium lifting needs. Commonly used in small electric hoists, jib cranes, ship loading and unloading equipment, industrial production line hoisting, etc.
3-Wheel Pulley Block: The three-wheel pulley block adopts a three-pulley configuration, usually in a "2 dynamic 1 fixed" or "1 dynamic 2 fixed" layout to disperse the force on the wire rope and reduce the wear of the single rope. It provides a 3:1 or 4:1 ratio (depending on the wire rope threading and winding method), suitable for heavy-duty operations with frequent lifting. Commonly used in medium-sized bridge cranes, gantry cranes, port container loading and unloading equipment, heavy machinery maintenance hoisting, etc.
4-Wheel Pulley Block: The four-wheel pulley block consists of four pulleys, providing a 4:1 or higher ratio, greatly reducing the tension required by the motor/drum. Made of high-strength alloy steel, it is suitable for large-tonnage lifting (such as more than 50 tons) and is suitable for ultra-heavy lifting systems. It is usually equipped with a balance beam design to ensure even load distribution. It is usually used in large metallurgical cranes, shipyard gantry cranes, heavy equipment lifting on offshore platforms, large bridge construction projects, etc.
All types of Crane Pulley Wheel Block adopt high-strength alloy pulleys, low-friction bearings and standardized rope groove design, which can ensure the life of the wire rope while meeting the international safety standards such as ISO/FEM, and are widely used in heavy industrial scenarios ranging from logistics to metallurgy and ports.

Caractéristiques
High-strength material: usually made of alloy steel (e.g., 34CrMo4) or forged steel, with high load capacity and impact resistance.
Precision rope groove design: the groove radius is about 1.05~1.1 times the diameter of the wire rope, which prevents jumping groove and reduces the deformation of wire rope extrusion. The surface is quenched + tempered to improve wear resistance.
Low-friction bearing system: Spherical roller bearings or bronze bushings are used to adapt to off-loading conditions, with a friction coefficient of ≤0.015.
Safety and monitoring function: Wear limit marking is set (10% reduction in rim thickness requires replacement).
Standardization and certification: Complies with ISO 4309 (wire rope matching), FEM 9.511 (lifting equipment standard) and other international norms.
Application
The Crane Pulley Wheel is usually used with various crane equipment, widely used in the following equipment and scenes:
Industrial Crane:
Bridge Crane: for material handling in the workshop, suitable for 2~4-wheel pulley block.
Gantry Crane: for harbor container loading and unloading, commonly used with a large ratio (4:1 or more) pulley block.
Construction & Engineering:
Tower Crane: for lifting steel and concrete precast parts with a heavy-duty pulley block.
