Industrie-Nachrichten
As the core equipment of industrial production, the safe operation of overhead cranes is directly related to the productivity of enterprises and the safety of personnel. Therefore, the overhead crane inspection and maintenance must strictly comply with national safety standards, otherwise, it may cause serious accidents. Long-term high-load operation easily leads to wear and tear of key components, and unstandardized maintenance may cause serious accidents such as wire rope breakage and brake failure. In this article, we will provide a safety inspection and maintenance checklist for overhead cranes in line with GB/T 14405-2011 standard, which will help you avoid risks and extend the life of your equipment. Please continue to read the following article:
"It should be emphasized that the installation, transformation, and maintenance (hereinafter referred to as construction) units of bridge cranes must obtain the appropriate special equipment installation, transformation, and maintenance permits, carry out construction within the scope of the permit, and be responsible for construction safety and construction quality."
Quote from "Lifting Appliances Safety and Technical Supervision Regulation—Overhead Travelling Cranes"
Regular inspections of overhead cranes ensure safe operation, prevent equipment failures, and comply with industry standards. Key inspection areas include steel structures, hoisting mechanisms, travel systems, controls, electrical components, and lubrication points, each of which requires specific inspections at different frequencies. Please refer to the table below for details:
Inspection items | Inspection focus | Inspection Cycle |
---|---|---|
Steel structure | Structural materials, welding quality (loosening, cracking, peeling), bridge deformation, corrosion. | Wear and damage of tracks, wheels, and brakes. |
Hebemechanismus | Operation status of electrical components, control, and operation systems. | 1 time every 6 months |
Traveling mechanism | Wear and damage of tracks, wheels, brakes. | 1 time per month |
Control system | Wear and damage of tracks, wheels, and brakes. | 1 time per month |
Elektrische Ausrüstung | Integrity and safety of electrical wiring, electrical components, and grounding devices. | 1 time per month |
Lubrication condition | Whether the lubricant of each lubrication point is sufficient and even to ensure the smooth operation of mechanical parts. | 1 time per week |
Maintenance category | Specific maintenance content | Maintenance Frequency |
---|---|---|
Check bolts, nuts, and other connections | Check bolts, nuts and other connections | Check for wear and tear, broken wires, and apply protective oil |
Safety devices | Test limiters, overload protection devices | Monthly |
Wire rope maintenance | Remove dust from electrical cabinets, and clean overall | Semi-monthly |
Track maintenance | Remove debris, check joint gaps | Weekly |
Operating mechanism | Clean button grips, check for dexterity | Daily |
Cleaning and dusting | Equip with maintenance tools, develop a pre-planning plan | Weekly |
Environmental adaptation | Check for special environmental operating conditions | When seasons change |
Personnel training | Train for safe operation | Quarterly |
Emergency preparedness | Equipped with maintenance tools, develop a pre-planning plan | Ongoing |
Specialized overhaul | Complete inspection and report | Annually |
We suggest downloading and saving this overhead crane inspection checklist PDF and posting it in the equipment operation room, and have the person in charge sign and file it after each inspection.
